Barbecues are one of the best simple pleasures of summertime, and having all the essentials is something you don’t want to forget if you’re planning on throwing one. Not only are your guests looking for a stress free and fun time, so are you! It’s hard sometimes to not feel a lot of pressure when you’re the host, but we’re here to help. We don’t want you to keep worrying about possibly forgetting anything, so we made sure you wouldn’t. If you just go over this quick and easy checklist, we are sure that your barbecue will be the talk of the town for years to come.
1. Skin Protection
Barbecues are something that are usually an all day outdoor event. You and your guests will more than likely be soaking up the sun all day, and it is important to feel comfortable and protected while enjoying your time outdoors. Any sort of sun protection is crucial. Whether that be some eye-wear or some sunscreen, providing little extras like this for your guests will have them feeling content and safe. Supplying them with some bug spray too is useful to help keep away pestering bugs that cause quite the annoyance.
2. Swim Activities

If you have the option to swim at your barbecue, that’s awesome! Just another thing to amplify your guests’ experience. Having some pool toys, trendy inflatable pool floats and safety gear is always a plus. Just in case kids are coming to your barbecue, you having that extra safety gear for them already on hand is a super thoughtful thing to do. Various water toys and activities are fun for the kids, as well as the adults who are just big kids at heart!
3. Festive Decor
Having an aesthetically pleasing vibe at your barbecue will be a great conversation piece, and will make this an even better environment for your guests. Adding little things like a summer themed table runner or table cloth are small pieces that will make a huge difference for your guests experience. You can even go one step further by adding things like twinkling lights, placing floral arrangements on the tables, having coordinating napkin and plate sets, etc. The list is endless, and you can make it all your own by adding your flare and style to the party. People love to see their friends and loved ones creative side, so take advantage of the opportunity and start designing this unforgettable festivity!
4. Thirst Quenching Beverages

Beverages are definitely something you don’t want to forget at a barbecue. Anything from some pure orange juice to a refreshing cocktail will be something that your guests will appreciate on a scolding hot summers day. Going back to the decor factor of all of this, putting the beverages in a unique dispenser will be a trendy and fun addition to your party. If you even just want something simple and easy to fill up with water at your event as well, you can purchase a large BPA-free plastic water bottle to fill up for your guests! If you want to go a step further, spruce up your bar tending skills by using some mesmerizing liquid activated LED pour spouts. This will surely get your guests even more excited for what else is to come of your get-together.
5. Grill Tools
The whole point of the barbecue is to grill up everyone’s favorite summertime classics, so these are probably the most important check list items of them all! You want to be sure that you have all the right grilling tools in front of you when you’re ready to start cookin’. To make things easier, you can grab a non-stick grill to put over your own grill or a fire of some sort so you don’t have to worry about a huge mess when you’re ready to clean up. Whatever you’re grilling is more than likely going to have to be marinated somehow. No one wants dry veggies or meats on a hot summer day, so what better way to marinate them than with a basting brush and pot? I’m sure some of your guests will want some melted cheesy goodness on their food too, so why not show off a little and melt some cheese on their burgers and hot dogs with a fancy chef’s torch? You could of course just have the cheese melt on there while you’re grilling, but what’s the fun in that? Once everyone’s all uncomfortably full from eating all of the delicious goodies you made, be sure to clean off the grill! You don’t want to leave anything on there that will crust up and start ruining your grill, so be sure to get a grill brush so you can thoroughly clean everything up.
